1. Clean the Drain Pump Filter Monthly

Coins, lint, hair clips, and threads frequently get trapped in the drain pump filter located at the bottom front of most front-load and semi-automatic machines. Clearing this filter prevents draining errors and pump motor burnout.

2. Descale the Drum and Heating Element

In regions with hard groundwater, limescale rapidly accumulates on the drum surface and heating coil. Run a monthly tub-clean cycle using a specialized descaling powder or white vinegar at 60°C.

3. Do Not Overload the Drum

Packing clothes too tightly strains the drive belt, motor, and drum shock absorbers. Fill the drum only up to 75% capacity to allow garments to tumble and water to circulate freely.

4. Leave the Door Ajar After Washing

Leaving the door or lid open for an hour after a cycle prevents mold, mildew, and unpleasant odors from developing on the rubber door gasket (bellow).

5. Check and Level the Machine Feet

If your machine violently shakes or walks during high-speed spinning, uneven feet or worn suspension springs are the culprit. An unbalanced machine can damage the outer drum casing.
